Mobile Survey Assignment on Cross Border Traders for the World Bank
During July and August we conducted a mobile questionnaire to understand under what conditions informal cross-border traders conduct their businesses. The results, which we delivered to the World Bank, highlighted the need for customs reform and capacity building. The questionnaire was an excellent opportunity for us to interact with the informal cross-border traders at the border crossing; at their suppliers’ premises, and at the transport points where they embark for their journeys. We chose these venues to better understand the intricate relationships that exist across the informal cross-border supply chain.
The survey results will enable the World Bank to drive trade policies at regional level to increase trade integration among Sub-Saharan countries.
